MK Place
MK PLACE is an adolescent substance use disorder treatment program. We offer both outpatient and residential treatment services for adolescents who meet ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria. In addition to providing treatment MK Place may conduct an assessment to determine placement for those seeking services.
Our program is designed to address major developmental, lifestyle, attitudinal, and behavioral issues that can undermine the goals of treatment or inhibit an individual’s ability to cope with major life or developmental tasks. MK Place staff have been trained in and adhere to the principles of trauma-informed care.
Utilizing Evidence-Based Practices MK Place helps adolescents:
- Learn strategies to reduce or eliminate substance use disorders
- Develop healthy stress management techniques
- Achieve and develop a meaningful, sustained recovery
- Learn coping skills for relapse prevention and emotional regulation
- Address co-occurring disorders
- Explore biological, environmental, behavioral, and social causes of substance use disorders, including trauma.

Residential Program Admission Requirements
To be accepted into MK Place’s residential treatment program an adolescent must have a completed assessment with a primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder. Acceptable assessments are a GAIN-I or CDA (Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment) with ASAM criteria completed within the last year. These assessments must recommend 3.5 level of care. Assessments will be reviewed prior to any acceptance into the program.
What is an ASAM Level 3.5 Medium-Intensity Treatment Facility?
This level of care is for those who need 24-hour treatment support while beginning or continuing their recovery process. The team is made up of qualified clinical staff (addictions counselors and licensed professional counselors) and staff that manage day-to-day residential care. At this level, there is no physician or psychiatrist on-site, and withdrawal symptoms must be managed before starting the program. Treatment focuses on improving clients’ ability to engage in tasks of daily living, stabilizing substance use disorder symptoms, learning and using recovery skills, and developing and practicing appropriate social skills.
Residential Treatment Funding
Funding must be approved prior to being admitted. Contact MK Place for more information about current funding sources.
