FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER
The Family Resource Center is the home office for Bannock Youth Foundation. We provide a variety of family services, offering support for parents in their efforts to nurture children. Our mission is to strengthen families and promote the well-being of children through parent education and support.
Services
Nurturing Parenting Program
- Parent education and support
- Groups for families with children up to age 12
- Groups are held once a week for 16 weeks
Kindergarten Readiness Group
- Designed to equip children with the skills necessary to succeed in the Kindergarten classroom
- Parents stay for our discussion group – great way to meet other parents!
- Any child entering kindergarten in the next school year is eligible
Kindergarten Readiness Group
- Children and parents enjoy activities and play with similarly aged kids in our playroom
- Parents have time to discuss parenting topics and get to know other parents
BabySteps
- Families earn points through a variety of health related activities and can redeem those points for baby- care items such as diapers, wipes, carseats and more!
- Open to any family who is pregnant or has a child under the age of 18 months
Parents as Teachers
- An evidence-based, home visiting program that supports families to help children be healthy, safe, and ready to learn
- Provides resources, personal visits from trained Parent Educators, developmental screenings, and group meetings to increase parent knowledge of early childhood development, improve parent practices, and connect families with needed community resources
- Serves expectant families and children up to age 5
