Eric is Deputy Chief at the Pocatello Police Department, where he has served as a police officer for 27 years. Though born in Minnesota, he’s lived in Pocatello since 1985 and considers it home. Eric describes himself as a servant leader at heart who loves serving his community.
Having seen a great deal of tragedy affecting youth over the course of his career, Eric is passionate about helping in any way he can, and brings an honest, detached leadership perspective to the board. Through his role at PPD, he volunteers regularly with youth-focused community programs like Shop with a Cop. Outside of work, Eric enjoys golfing and playing pickleball with his wife and family, working out, and mountain biking in the Pocatello hills — and says his granddaughter inspires him to be his best every day.
