Why MK Place
Community Involvement and Prosocial Activities
MK Place has developed community partnerships and actively engages residents in community events and prosocial activities throughout their stay in the program. Our therapy dog in training, Leo
The simple act of petting an animal can release relaxing hormones, lower blood pressure, and improve physical and mental health. Therapy animals like Leo can help children feel more secure and open during therapy sessions and make the room feel less intimidating. Leo is working through training curriculum to become a certified therapy animal. After completing the final stage of his training, the Advanced Canine Good Citizen course, he will be fully certified.
